Introduction

Let me introduce my venture with photography. I am an amateur photographer who enjoys taking photos to create memorable instances of my family, kids, pets, and nature. For the past 15 years, I have been using digital point-and-shoot cameras, however, I started to feel I was limited by the quality of such cameras. For this reason, I decided to delve into the world of digital SLR cameras.

Nikon D5500 SLR with 18-300mm Sigma lens

As a result of a lengthy online search, I opted to buy the Nikon D5500 camera. It is an amazing entry-level camera, offering all the features one needs to learn and play around. This comes with a standard Nikon 18-55mm lens which has less optical zoom capability than man. Hence, I upgraded the lens and bought an 18-300mm Sigma lens.

The lens proves to be a very versatile solution because, given the 18-300mm range, you won’t need to stay changing lenses between say the standard 18-55mm and some other 55-300mm lenses.
